If the Mayor of New Orleans is to Blame...

For this lack of response to this national disaster, then I and every citizen of the United States should pay more local taxes than we do to the federal taxes. Let's pay our local governments to do what we used to expect the federal government to do.

Mayor Nagin is about the only elected I've seen directly involved with this that has the balls to stand up and shout the truth of this matter. The Feds were sitting on their asses.

I cannot help but wonder what part race and class play into this lack of, and then slow response to this tragedy. Would a sea of white American faces be referred to as refugees? Or, is it normal to equate black faces, black people with refugee situations? I just can't over that term in this situation...

Have those that have been displace and relocated in Mississippi and Alabame also referred to as refugees? Don't think I've heard it used yet.
