Marching to Nowhere

Marching to Nowhere: "Forty-two years after the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. spoke to hundreds of thousands of people from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Farrakhan, Jackson and Sharpton -- the men who would be King -- seek to proclaim themselves his heirs by outdrawing him on the Mall."

First of all, Mr. Nicholson, like Bill Bennett's comments in recent days thanks for sharing what you really think. If you want to know if it's a march or a movement, ask the organizers. Black American's if you are interested in this event, ask someone involved in the event, Not a non-participant!

The above is the personal opinion of the writer, and must have been written to reinforce the negative beliefs that already exist among some. This article (click link if you want to read the entire article) is trashing something that's dear to me and many, many others. Mr. Nicholson, please write about the issues you care about, write about those you care about, and those you want to help. How does writing about the Millions More Movement benefit you or others when you write about it so negatively?

This afternoon I participated in pre-rally summit that did not include Jesse, Al, or Farrakhan. Contrary to the popular belief this isn't about Minister Farrakhan, Jesse Jackson, or Al Sharpton. It is about the state of the black community, what we need to do to correct it, and mobilizing to get it down. The negativity in this article reflects the writers attitude toward the subject he's writing about. It's clearly negative. I have been blessed with the ability to critically think for myself.

If we believed and took heed to the negativity of this article, we as a black community would continue to do nothing. We must change our expectation, and not give credance to the negativity. This article affirms the authors thoughts. His thoughts, views don't affirm me.

People we have work to do. And, work has been taking place!!!! The media doesn't cover it. America as a whole has not solved her problems. Why would we expect that in ten years black America's problems would be solved?

Mr. Nicholson,
Since you care enough to offer criticism, what are your solutions to the problems that plague black americans? Do you care enough to commit to working to improve the conditions of black people in America?

You may say that you are offering solutions by warning people about Jesse, Farrakhan and Al. Oh, Please! That's foolishness. The only harm that Jesse, Al, or Farrakhan may have done to black people is not kissing the a$$'s of conservatives. The only black people that conservatives "endorse" or "approve" as appropriate black leaders for blacks are those who agree with them in word and deed.

Mr. Nicholson, Heritage Foundation, National Center for Public Policy research, I DON'T WANT YOUR BRAND of the NEW AMERICAN NEGRO!!!!!! As one of the panelist said today when reflecting on his marriage, "My opinion is "A" opinion, not "THE" opinion." I understand that, hopefully, others will get that one day sooner than later too!
