US Citizens on US soil in "Refugee Shelter"

Our relatives, friends, and fellow Americans are displaced after a natural disaster... Experienced their own hell on Earth with death, despair all around...No one responding to their pleas for help until days later...Wondering if they are forgotten... Now Refugees. I can't understand how in the hell US citizens are refugees. I can't wrap my brain around that concept.

What monies will the United States get from the UN by classifying their displaced, homeless citizens as refugees? What delayed our governments response to this national tragedy? Secretary Rice says it was not race. So, this is what our tax dollars guarantee us? This and Iraq... somethings not right! If you can't figure that out,... shame, shame...

God, please help the victims of this tragedy in Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. Please help us with our grief. Help us help the people who have been directed affected by this rebuild their spirits and lives.

I am so worried about the physical and mental health of the victims. Not only have they lost everything including some of their loved ones, they have to deal with the fact that our government failed them. Our government failed them in Mississippi. They are still waiting for help, for relief, for basics. They all wanna know that their government cares about them. Why did the president take so long in even ackowledging that we are in the midst of a national disaster? Why did we receive condolences and offers for aid from foreign governments before we heard from our president of the United States? Why does the Major of New Orleans have to scream, holler, and curse before someone notices that this is an emergency? Why did FEMA and the Dept. of Homeland Security go there and not do anything to immediately rescue the people from hell on Earth? Does our government not have psychologists and social workers and mental health therapists and sociologists at their disposal to help them understand human behavior in chaos and a crisis? So, many questions. No answers from our government.

I am outraged at our governments response. God, help us all.
