Representing

I spent most of the day in DC at the ANSWER Anti-War Rally/Protest. I started the day watching it on CSPAN. I had to go represent. There were many, many people out there...thousands! I love the signs and costumes that people wear. One of the best signs was "FRODO FAILED! BUSH HAS THE RING!" It took me only a second to catch it.

Saw a great hip-hop band with conscious lyrics out of Oakland, California called Boots Riley and the Coup. Check them out live or online. I don't think mainstream media in DC will allow them to be heard on the radio.

I love the grassroots movements. I've participated in just about all of the Anti-war in Iraq marches in DC. This was the largest gathering thus far. Family, we have to come out and represent! Show up! Sign the petition. Do something, and share what you are doing with others. We must Unite! Ofttimes, We make the assumption that nothing is going on if we don't know about it. Things are happening all the time, and Much of it we know nothing about. We believe EVERYTHING that comes on television. We are not accustomed to critical thinking. We simply regurgitate the talking points spoken by politicians, paid pundits, and biased news media. Do your own independent investigation! Develop your own moral character and standards!

As the saying goes "If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything! This is not a time to be a bystander. People are dying. Innocent people...for senseless reasons. Let's all do our part. We cannot afford to leave it to a few, and it's not fair to the few. Stand up, be counted! Be...active! Represent!
