NAACP News: NAACP Raises More Than Half Million Dollars for Disaster Relief - September 9, 2005: "The NAACP is working closely with a number of organizations in its relief efforts. These include the National Medical Association, the American Counseling Association, the Association of Black Psychologists, the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., the Progressive National Baptist Convention, the National Missionary Baptist Convention of America, the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc., the National Newspaper Publishers Association, American Urban Radio Network, the American Psychological Association, the National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators and Developers, People for the American Way and Verizon. Through the NAACP’s collaborative network, health professionals and counseling services will be available to displaced citizens in Baton Rouge, Gulfport, Houston and other cities."
