HoustonChronicle.com - Katrina evacuee struggles with strange city With audio: "New Orleans native Janice Armstrong watches as friends and neighbors disappear from the George R. Brown Convention Center.
She's not sure where they've gone, but the beds are starting to empty. The 45-year-old wants to leave, too, but she still doesn't have a new home to go to. She's having a tough time searching for a three-bedroom Section 8 unit in a city that she's lived in only for a short time.
'Here, you don't know where to go. You get lost,' said Armstrong, who reunited with two daughters and two grandsons at the shelter earlier this week. 'If I knew where I was going, that'd be a whole different situation.'"
