Davis warns on DC region's emergency preparedness
Davis warns on DC region's emergency preparedness: "WASHINGTON Nothing's changed since 'Tractor Man.' That's the assessment of Northern Virginia Congressman Tom Davis on whether the Washington region is any better prepared for a major emergency than New Orleans.
Interviewed on W-M-A-L Radio, Davis says the area isn't as ready as it needs to be. He cites the case of the tobacco farmer whose 47-hour stand-off with police backed up traffic through several rush hours.
Among the items on his list, Davis wants more money for Metro, calling the transit system critical to any evacuation plan."
