CBS 2 Chicago WBBM-TV: Jackson Jr. Wants Answers About Katrina Response
CBS 2 Chicago WBBM-TV: Jackson Jr. Wants Answers About Katrina Response: "(CBS) Congressman Jesse Jackson Junior is turning up the pressure on the federal government to investigate the response to Hurricane Katrina.
“The federal response was a disgrace: That it was slow, that it was inept, that it was inadequate,” he said.
While speaking at a Rainbow/PUSH donation drive, Jackson said the investigation should include more than just a lack of personnel to rescue people.
He called for an independent prosecutor to look into the role of President Bush’s vacation and whether or not Bush’s tax cuts put too much of a strain on state and local infrastructure."
